Neurodiversity Discovery Meeting

Could Neurodiversity Be Your Key to Self-Understanding?

Are you over 18 and curious about autistic traits you have noticed in yourself? Have you ever wondered if you might be Autistic or ADHD… or AuDHD? If so, I offer a safe and supportive space for your exploration.

I am James Reling (he/him), a late-diagnosed autistic adult and mental health therapist with a deep passion for neurodiversity, mental health, and trauma healing. These meetings are designed to help you reflect, ask questions, and discover new ways of understanding yourself. Please note that this meeting is not sufficient for a formal diagnosis. However, it can help you explore whether pursuing a formal diagnosis may or may not be helpful. I may suggest resources and share my reflections based on what you share.

Your Personal Exploration

Embarking on self-discovery can be both exciting and overwhelming. If you have ever thought, Could I be neurodivergent? Or want to understand your experiences better, you are not alone. A Neurodiversity Discovery Meeting offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Ask questions in a supportive environment

  • Share your reflections and stories

  • Gain insights from a neurodivergent professional who specializes in working with neurodivergent adults.

  • Consider whether a more formal assessment or diagnosis might be helpful to you, and receive guidance on possible next steps.

Navigating Your Curiosity

Reaching adulthood while feeling different or misunderstood can be puzzling and painful. Discovering that you are neurodivergent can also be an empowering experience, shining light on both your strengths and challenges. It can reshape how you view your past and clarify the support you need moving forward.

While this process can stir many emotions, you do not have to face it alone. These meetings are designed to help you make sense of your experiences and feel supported as you integrate new self-understanding.

Uncovering your neurotype can be liberating, sometimes daunting, and always personal. To protect your confidentiality, I will not keep notes about our meeting. After our meeting, I may follow up with resources tailored to your interests and needs.

What to Expect

These meetings are not assessments or therapy sessions. Instead, they are casual 55-minute video consultations where you can freely discuss your thoughts and feelings about neurodivergence. I am here to listen and offer feedback based on my expertise and lived experience.

You can expect:

  • A compassionate, judgment-free conversation

  • Validation of your experiences and questions

  • Honest feedback and reflections

  • Education and guidance about neurodivergent traits

  • Confidentiality, except for my legal duty as a mandated reporter, if I learn of potential harm to a child.
