James Reling, LPC, CRC, SEP (he/him)

I am a licensed professional counselor in Oregon, a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and a graduate of the InnerTrek psilocybin facilitator training program. My work sits at the intersections of neurodivergence, trauma healing, and psychedelic support.

As the author of Neurodivergent Psychedelic Healing: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Facilitation, I bring together research, clinical experience, and lived insight to help facilitators, therapists, and organizations create safer and more inclusive spaces for neurodivergent adults.

My Focus

  • Neurodivergence: affirming support for Autistic and ADHD adults, especially those who, like me, discovered their neurodivergence later in life

  • Trauma Healing: using somatic approaches (Somatic Experiencing® and Hakomi) to guide others in understanding the nervous system and how the body carries and releases trauma

  • Psychedelic Support: offering preparation, integration, and consultation rooted in harm reduction, safety, and nonjudgment

My Values

  • Safety: creating containers where nervous systems can relax and explore

  • Empowerment: supporting people in reclaiming their autonomy and voice

  • Sensitivity: attuning to subtle needs and diverse forms of communication

  • Adaptability: shaping practices to fit the individual, not the other way around

  • Divergence: honoring difference as a strength

  • Interdependence: drawing wisdom from many sources

A Personal Note

I am a late-diagnosed autistic human, and my lived experience deeply informs my passion for the work I do. I know the relief of finding language for my difference and the grief that can come with realizing how long support was missing. These truths fuel my commitment to helping others feel understood, respected, and empowered in their discovery.

Outside of my professional life, I have a lifelong love of music. I often draw on its power for reflection, grounding, and meaning-making in facilitation and integration. Creativity, for me, is both a tool and a way of being.

Why I Do This Work

Neurodivergence is not a deficit but a source of creativity, resilience, and vision. My mission is to help unlock that potential by creating spaces where difference is honored, healing is possible, and new futures can be imagined together.
