Neurodivergent Psychedelic Healing: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Facilitation

By James Reling

This book is written for facilitators, guides, and anyone supporting neurodivergent people in psychedelic spaces. Drawing on my experience as a licensed therapist, Somatic Experiencing® practitioner, and graduate of InnerTrek's psilocybin facilitator training program in Oregon, I offer a lens that centers safety, sensitivity, and empowerment.

In the book, you will find practical tools for building containers where Autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent people can explore psychedelics with greater agency. You will also see how trauma, masking, and sensory differences shape the healing journey. Facilitators will learn how to honor neurodivergent needs. The goal of this book is not to ask you to overhaul your practice completely but rather to suggest ways to adapt what you already do so it better supports the needs of neurodivergent clients.

This work is rooted in my mission: creating safe and accommodating resources that help neurodivergent adults reconnect with autonomy, reclaim sensitivity as strength, and spark their creative inner healer.
